Key Takeaways

Mother's Day is fast approaching and as both a mum and a granny I find myself quite intrigued by all the different Mother's Day offerings from a variety of different establishments. As a result of Kafoodle taking off so well over the past 12 months I’ve become a lot more aware of the hospitality industry and these sorts of occasions. In any case, it has brought me to think - what is my perfect Mother’s Day?Certainly while the kids were still young I was quite content being at home with the family all around, but with the rise of the family friendly ‘gastropub’ together with the growing variety of options for non-meaters like myself I find I’m more and more drawn to dining out.And to be honest the thought of spending Saturday grocery shopping and Sunday cooking would normally be absolutely fine as my husband Ron and I love entertaining (especially famous for our summer BBQs). Mother's Day however seems to always fall slap bang in the middle of a pretty cold spell so I doubt we’ll be barbecuing this weekend. As well as that our daughters are actually all mums themselves so it's a great opportunity to all get together to celebrate motherhood and relax over someone else's cooking. It’s this realisation that makes eating out the perfect option; a large variety of food options for the whole family to choose from, no-one is slaving away in the kitchen and it gives us some valuable time together where we’re all seated around one table enjoying a quality meal and great service. It’s with this thought that I’ll be supporting our local pub, The Foresters, in Loughton this Mother’s Day. Not really interested in a fine dining meal, we just want a nice family lunch with some good, hearty comfort food in a relaxed family-friendly environment.I therefore encourage all of you to have a look at what your local restaurants and pubs are doing on Mother’s Day and why not book a cosy table to celebrate the day with your magnificent mum and the family. To my family, I look forward to spending a great Sunday afternoon with you all. I wouldn’t say no to breakfast in bed…Happy Mother’s Day to all you fabulous woman out there!Kim AntoniouWife, Mum, Granny, and Founder of Kafoodle#supportyourlocal
