How to convert a recipe from metric to imperial
1. Navigate to the Ingredients and Allergens Tab: The option for conversion is available in this tab within a recipe’s editing panel.
2. Status Check: Initially, the recipe will display ‘no conversion’ if no previous unit conversion has been made, or if there is a mix of metric and imperial measurements within the recipe.
3. Performing the Conversion:
- To convert the measurements from metric to imperial, you’ll select the desired option from the dropdown menu.
- After making the selection, ensure to save the recipe to apply the changes.
4. Verifying the Conversion:
- Before the conversion, confirm that the measurements are listed in metric units (grams, milliliters, etc.).
- After saving with the selected conversion option, the ingredient quantities will be displayed in imperial units (ounces, pints, etc.).
5. Reverting the Conversion:
- To switch the measurements back to metric from imperial, select ‘convert to metric’ from the dropdown menu.
- Save the recipe again to apply the reversal.
This functionality streamlines the recipe adaptation process, making it efficient for kitchen staff to work with their preferred or required unit of measurement, enhancing consistency and ensuring compliance with diverse regional requirements.
