This week has been a busy week in Kafoodle World with us exhibiting at The Takeaway Expo on Tuesday and Wednesday. We were ecstatic to win the Food Allergen Awareness Innovation Award which was judged by the who’s who of the casual dining and takeaway market. It really does feel like awareness around this subject is starting to be at the forefront of both diners’ and businesses’ minds.With over 10,000 business customers visiting the Excel London we were definitely kept on our toes and it was great to speak to so many businesses who not only want to digitalise allergen information but are also interested in different ways of improving the customer experience when looking for takeaway food. There were a few key topics that takeaway businesses were discussing and amongst these were how to communicate allergens in takeaway food as well as healthier menu options so that diners feel comfortable eating takeaway more frequently.As a result, our CEO Jackie Grech was asked to speak alongside Dr Chun-Han Chan from the Food Standards Agency and Jenny Morris from The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) about allergen awareness, compliance, and the importance of integrating free from food into menus to reach a wider range of consumers.All in all it was a fantastic few days and we are looking forward to a brilliant October and rest of 2015.
