We have noticed our customers becoming more and more health aware as well as increasing competition from perceived healthy operators.
The key challenge for Temptations cafe was to be as transparent as possible about their products, in order to continue attracting a growing population of health-aware consumers and stay ahead of the competition.
‘With the population becoming increasingly concerned about health issues potentially associated with certain foods such as gluten and dairy, customers are looking to make more informed decisions about their purchases and want access to nutritional information quickly and easily. We have had a number of customers ask us for calorie information, so we try and listen to our customers as much as possible and provide as best we can for them.’ [Graham Harris]
Harris wanted to find a cost effective and accessible way to manage his recipes, whilst focusing on making them as healthy and transparent for his diners as possible. He felt it was imperative for this information to be communicated easily to his customers, both in terms of nutritional information labelling and as a marketable opportunity. Harris also needed to be able to calculate the allergens, nutritional values and financial cost of preparing each dish.
‘We chose to use Kafoodle for two reasons: it’s a really simple to use system, and it offers a complete solution. We particularly like the fact there is an app that our customers can look up our food items on, which gives us exposure to potential new customers. Obviously there is a legal requirement for us to have allergy information available, and Kafoodle gave us this information quickly and easily, as well as providing a full nutritional breakdown.’ [Graham Harris]
‘When it came to implementation the team at Kafoodle were happy to help with the set up. The system itself is very easy-to-use; the main work from our side was gathering all the supplier data and putting time aside to enter recipes into the system. We had one training session on the system and may do top ups later on, but so far so good.’ [Graham Harris]
‘We certainly expect to see some uplift as we fully implement Kafoodle across our shops. It could be as much as 1 in 10 potential customers not coming to us if we don’t display calorie and nutritional information, so we could see a 10%+ uplift once we make this transparent in our shops and easy for customers to access.’ [Graham Harris]
