Casual Dining 2016 Review

We were absolutely delighted to be part of Casual Dining 2016 which took place on Wednesday and Thursday earlier this week. The who’s who of the casual dining industry were brought together all under one roof at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London. It was a great networking opportunity and it’s always a pleasure to speak to restaurant owners and industry people alike about the numerous challenges they face when it comes to providing allergen and nutritional information, managing ingredients, recipes, menus, not to mention keeping on top of product costs. We were invigorated by people’s willingness to embracing new technology and ‘digitize’ their information to improve efficiency. This year also saw the first ever Casual Dining Restaurant & Pub Awards, held at The Grange St. Paul’s Hotel in London. Kafoodle were proud sponsors of The Social Responsibility Award which we presented to Ed’s Easy Diner - congratulations on winning! A great night was had by all especially by one of the guests at our table Alisdair Murdoch, Chief Executive at GBK. Their location on St. Vincent Street, Glasgow won the award for the Best Designed Multiple Casual Dining Restaurant.

A big thanks must go out to our client The Salt Yard Group who kindly provided the lovely prize - dinner for two at Spanish-Italian tapas restaurant Dehesa - for our ‘guess the allergens’ competition. On the whole it was a fantastic couple of days at the show. We look forward to the rest of the year and are excited about the prospect of working with a wealth of new partners and businesses who truly care about the food information they pass on to their diners.Follow us on Twitter or Facebook to keep up-to-date with the latest in the Kafoodle world.
